- The Notice of Exam requires an employer recommendation letter.
- Holders of an F-89, T-89, F-80 or F-53 Certificate of Fitness are exempt for the same premises, per the Notice of Exam.

- At FDNY Headquarters, 9 MetroTech Center, Brooklyn. It is multiple-choice questions on a touch-screen computer, with a time limit. The FDNY's general Notice of Exam lists a $25 application fee.
